<p>1. Login to Blackberry Administration Service</p>
<p>2. Create User without activation password.</p>
<p>3. Plugin Blackberry via USB &#8211; wait 30 seconds.</p>
<p>4. Expand Attached Devices and click Scan if it doesn&#8217;t pick up automatically.</p>
<p>5. Click Mange Current Device</p>
<p>6. Click Assign the current device to a user</p>
<p>7. Search for User</p>
<p>8. Select User and Click Associate User</p>
<p>9. Wait upto 30 seconds.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Note: If Attached Devices comes up blank do the following:</strong></p>
<p>1. Make sure you&#8217;ve enabled the ActiveX Control &#8211; The ActiveX Control is what lets BES See USB Devices.<br />
2. Make sure you plugged the device in after logging into the BES Admin Service</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>If you can&#8217;t run the ActiveX Control:</strong></p>
<p>Tools -&gt; Internet Options -&gt; choose the Security tab<br />
Click the Custom Level button<br />
Enable the following settings:<br />
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins<br />
Initialize and script ActiveX control not marked as safe.</p>

<p>I did the following to fix the issue:</p>
<ol>
<li>Stop the DNS, start the BlackBerry Controller service, and then restart the DNS.<strong>Note:</strong> The issue could potentially occur again when the computer is restarted.</li>
<li>Modify the value of the Syslog User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port using the <span style="color: #000000;"><span class="code">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Controller\SysLogPort</span> registry key to utilize port 4071 and restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services. </span><strong>Note:</strong> If the <strong>SysLogPort</strong> registry key is not be present, it can be created as a DWORD key before performing the workaround.</li>

<p>1.	Scroll to and select the Settings icon (to select push the trackball in).<br />
2.	Scroll to and select the Options icon.<br />
3.	Scroll to and select Security Options.<br />
4.	Scroll to and select General Settings.<br />
5.	Press the Menu key , then select Wipe Handheld.<br />
6.	The device is going to confirm that the data will be erased. Select Continue.<br />
WARNING: A master reset will result in the loss of ALL user data!<br />
7.	Enter &#8220;blackberry&#8221; to confirm handheld wipe.<br />
8.	Once the blackberry has rebooted<br />
9.	Go to option (spanner)<br />
10.	Go to advanced options<br />
11.	Go to Enterprise activation<br />
12.	Enter your email address<br />
13.	Enter code (given to you by your enterprise administrator)<br />
14.	Click ball and select activate.</p>
